COLLABORATIVE LAW

At Starling Family Law, we have trained collaborative lawyers who can assist you to participate in a specialised family law process known as collaborative law.

Collaborative law is a non-adversarial, holistic process that is designed to assist clients to obtain goal-oriented and family focused solutions.

Collaborative law requires the parties to opt out of court proceedings and commit to open and transparent communication for the purposes of reaching better outcomes, with less stress and disruption to vital co-parenting relationships.

In the collaborative law process, you will work with a team of professionals who will assist you and your former partner in a supported environment to reach your joint and individual goals to provide you with better overall outcomes than in more traditional processes. During the collaborative process, each party will be assisted to identify what is most important to them and work towards those goals and interests rather than taking a positional approach in relation to assets of the relationship.

The process is designed to be transparent, respectful and constructive and to empower the parties by assisting them to remain in control of their family law matter.
